The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is a Nigerian Pentecostal megachurch and denomination.
General Overseer Adeboye was ordained in 1981. The average church attendance in Lagos is 100,000 people .[1]
Rev. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi (1909–1980) created the RCCG in 1952.
Rev. Akindayomi nominated Enoch Adejare Adeboye as the next General overseer.
Adeboye joined the church in 1973, he was a lecturer in mathematics at the University of Lagos in Nigeria. Bro Enoch began by assisting in the translation of Akindayomi’s sermons from Yoruba to English.
In The Year 1975, he was ordained as a pastor of the church, and in 1976, he was named the General Overseer of the church
