Open Heaven For 18th May 2022 (Sunday) God Of Jacob
Good morning Beloved, Welcome to the Open Heavens devotional today. Thank you for joining us.
Today, we’re looking at the dimension of God that is “The God of Jacob.” This dimension shows us God as love and as a God that answers prayers.
INTRODUCTION: OPEN HEAVEN 18 MAY 2022
Our God being the God of Jacob means that He is the God of love because when you read Genesis 29:1-35, you will find Jacob to be a man who, because of love, worked for fourteen years without pay.
That is a great demonstration of love. 1 John 4:8 also tells us that God Himself is love. “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”
The God of Jacob is also the God of answered prayers. In Genesis 32:1-32, when Jacob knew that Esau was coming to kill him, he prayed all night, refusing to leave God’s representative, and by the following morning (Genesis 33:1-4), instead of Esau killing him, he embraced him and wept because God had intervened.

OPEN HEAVEN 18TH MAY 2022 MESSAGE
How does He multiply? In Genesis 26:12-14, the Bible tells us that when Isaac sowed, in the same year, he had a hundredfold return. This, therefore, means that the God of Isaac is the God of hundredfold returns.
When you look at the last promise in Genesis 22:17, you see God saying that Abrahams’s seed will possess the gate of his enemies. In those days, the gate was the center of a city’s economy.
This means that when the God of Isaac is your God, you will become so prosperous that whether nations like you or not, they would have to do whatever you say.
Now, there is something we must take note of in Jacob; he prayed all night. The reason many of us don’t get our prayers answered is that we don’t pray persistently.
The God of Jacob answers the prayers of those who pray persistently, those who don’t stop praying until He gives them what they want.
When you are cutting a tree, there is always that last strike of the ax that will bring it down. If you stop too early, the tree will remain standing stand and even get stronger as the days go by.

Don’t leave that problem standing, keep knocking on the door of heaven until God solves all your problems and makes you joyful.
It is Jesus Himself who said we should keep calling on God day and night: “And shall not God avenge his elect, which cry day and night unto him, though He bears long with them? Luke 18:7”
Don’t think you are disturbing God with your prayers at all; He said in Isaiah 62:7 And give him no rest, till He establishes, and till he makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
I will keep crying to God day and night (1 Thessalonians 5:17). and will give Him no rest until He answers all my prayers. I hope you will do the same.
