SOD TOPIC: THE ENEMY OF GODLINESS CALLED FLESH
Scripture:
SCRIPTURE: Romans 7:18-19.
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When a mature man is being controlled by the container of dust called the flesh, it is a miserable existence.

SEED OF DESTINY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that the flesh is the enemy of godliness.
That is why a life that is controlled by the flesh cannot say “No” to sin.
For example, a lady that cannot say “No” to a man ends up as a prostitute and could later contract sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV/AIDS and eventually end up in hellfire, if she doesn’t repent.
Similarly, a man whose flesh is ruled by immorality and alcoholism stands to be ruined on earth and in eternity. A person ruled by the flesh will be ruined on earth and in eternity except they repent.

A person who is ruled by the flesh does not care about the consequences of their actions. Whether it hurts God or it hurts the other person. It is like a man who is out to rape a lady or the armed robber who is out to steal and kill. They don’t care who is hurt by their action. As long as it pleases their flesh, they go for it. It is such a regrettable life; a life of destruction in time and in eternity.
It is a miserable thing for the flesh to be in charge of a man’s life.

When a mature man is being controlled by the container of dust called the flesh, it is a miserable existence. He can abandon his wife at home just to be together in a hotel with a strange woman. It is a miserable thing. He cannot pay his children’s school fees because of a lustful, sinful and wasteful appetite that is governing his life. It is a miserable life.
Beloved, determine never to be in this category of those whose lives are controlled by their fleshly desires and appetites. Ask for the wisdom of God to give you revelation on how to discipline your flesh and bring it under control.
