TOPIC: Going Higher In Life (Seeds Of Destiny 8 January 2023)
SCRIPTURE: Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 3:13-14.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: No matter how high your level in life, there is a higher level you still need to reach.
SEED OF DESTINY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
As a church, when we were two years old in ministry, some journalists came to interview us. They said, “This ministry has succeeded so fast. Can you tell us the secret of your success?”
In my mind, I said to myself, “How could you ask a child of two years how he succeeded? He succeeded in doing what?”
So, I told them, “We have not yet started. When we start, I will let you people know”.
So, from there, we continued doing what we were doing that brought us to the level that attracted the journalists.
SOD DAILY
You see, don’t let anyone convince you that you have started. I want this revelation to kill every spirit of complacency and early arrival mentality.
God’s servant, Pastor E. A. Adeboye once told a story about one of his teachers while in school. He said when they were writing the C-grade point in Mathematics, this teacher would always tell them, “Your mates are getting B but you are here writing C in Mathematics.”
He said he went on to put extra effort in studies and began to get the B-grade. The same teacher told him again, “Your mates are getting A-grade, and you are here getting B-grade.”
Then he decided to work harder and got the A-grade. Yet, the teacher went on to say, “Your mates are getting A-plus grade, here you are getting an ordinary A”
Eventually when he struggled and got the A-plus grade, the teacher said, “Your mates are already in the university, and you are here talking of A-plus grade in secondary school.
There is an important lesson from the story above, and the lesson is: No matter how high your level in life, there is a higher level you still need to reach. Always make extra effort to go further in life.
