“Pastor, now that I’m born again, what good things do I start doing to be righteous before God?” Esther asked her Pastor. “Good things?” Pastor Jenny retorted. “You were born righteous as a Christian, Esther. In fact, Christ is your righteousness. Meditate on this and declare it about yourself, instead of looking for “good things” to do to be righteous before God.”

What we just read in our opening verse is one of the most powerful truths revealed to us in God’s Word. Christ has become our righteousness! This is so huge! Your righteousness is the righteousness of Jesus Christ. You didn’t earn it; you were born with it when you were born into Christ. Something powerful that the righteousness of God does in and for you is that it makes you a master. Righteousness-consciousness gives you dominion in life and over circumstances.

Open Heaven Today

Isaiah revealed this when he said, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me, says the LORD” (Isaiah 54:17). Your righteousness is of the Lord. Paul also referred to this in Philippians 3:9 when he said, “And be found in Him, not 39 ONE YEAR TWO YEAR having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith.”

Hallelujah! So, declare boldly, “Christ is my righteousness!” Never allow satan to deceive you into believing you’re not righteous enough for God’s blessings. You’re as righteous as Jesus is, since He is your righteousness. It’s His righteousness that matters, and that’s what you have.

Romans 5:17 declares, “For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” You’ve been justified freely in Christ Jesus (Romans 3:24), with His life and nature of righteousness in your spirit. Now, you can boldly fellowship with God in love without a sense of guilt, condemnation, or inferiority! Hallelujah!

Thank you, Father, for the vicarious sacrifice of Jesus Christ, through which I’ve been made righteous. Through the gift of righteousness that I’ve received, I walk in dominion and reign over circumstances, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
