The story of Jesus in this text above shows us one of the effects of prayer. Most Christians only think prayer is for asking or fighting, but prayer actually changes us from within. Prayer causes us to glow, to be spiritually intelligent, to access dimensions in the spirit, and many more.
When you pray what do you expect? What are your experiences? When we pray we are transformed into the image of the Son of God. I don’t mean the kind of prayer many people are praying against the devil, their enemies, etc, but this kind of prayer is a prayer that takes one into the very core of the Spirit.
This kind of prayer is not a prayer for begging God to do something, but it’s a prayer that focuses on the beauty of God’s holiness, the wonders of His works, and the prosecution of His will in this world.
As he prayed, the countenance of His face was uttered. Meaning the appearance of His face was shining. If you pray rightly your countenance will be uttered, and you can never be the same again.
If your prayer must be effective there is a need to see beyond your needs and focus your mind on God’s agenda.
